Abstract:This article presents on qualitative research which explored the relationship between food advertisement, health-related claims on advertising and the proposed regulation of food advertising in the United Kingdom. The paper reviews the rules of adverting and the claims based on literature, as well as analyzes the British television advertisements on the basis of European Union regulations. The authors questions the effectiveness of regulations in the case of health-related claims on food adverting.
