Abstract: | Notion a tourist has about a destination is conditioned by his vision of it and this behaviour is the result of her perceptions. Based on the model of Baloglu and McCleary (1999), a model is proposed which explains the process of destination image formation. Information is gathered from residents in Spain whose destination is Mexico. The results show that the tourists' motivations have a direct effect on the cognitive evaluation and the global image. They don't, however, directly influence the affective evaluation. |
