Abstract:Bringing an organizational identity (hereafter as: org-id/s.) perspective to the debate on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and multinational corporations (MNCs), this study's basic proposition is that org-id/s. justify a closer attention due to their influence on CSR strategies. A more explicit distinction btw. principles and practices, or btw. 'being' and 'doing', is argued to be needed. Two translation processes are suggested as pertinent: from hypernorms to organizational principles (here as: org-prcps.) and the translation of org-prcps. into practices.
