| Abstract: | Montefina is a chemical company that works in an area of rapid technological evolution and important investments. Ability to adapt to change is an essential element of the firm's performance. To keep its competitiveness at he market Montefina has introduced some basic changes in management structure. The new system called "participative management" resulted in a quick growth and improving quality but lead also to some difficulties arising from the growing responsibility of the personnel. However, by the help of an appropriate equilibrium between participation and subordination these problems can be overcome. |
