| Abstract: | The idea of worksharing - redistributing limited available work by reducing the working hours and pay of those in employment - has gained an increasing profile in German industrial relations since a pioneering agreement was concluded by Volkswagen at the end of 1993. Here the authors present a survey of agreements on worksharing concluded in the course of last year. They also compare the notion of worksharing with conventional short-time working arrangements. |
