Abstract:Many executives have misconceptions about child care services. Statistics are presented to disclose the changing nature of today's typical family structure, and family member roles. It is demonstrated that child care services are strategically important benefits that can lower costs and increase profitability. The lack of an adequate, large-scale child care program in the USA is probably the source of several productivity and morale problems for parents and employers alike. Corporations cannot completely address the need by themselves, but they can benefit substantially by addressing it at all. A strategic justification of this proposition is provided. A menu of usable services and work-scheduling policies is given.
