Abstract:The new Microsoft may be more of a threat to competition than its predecessor ever was. Last spring it was commanded that Microsoft must be split into two independent entities. Independent Microsoft applications company could present a serious threat to desktop and personal productivity players in the Linux space. It looks as if the evolution of technology and Microsoft's business strategy will take the bite out of the court rulings even if they stick.
