Abstract:This paper discusses the widely accepted idea that small business is specific. According to the writers, its prevalence suggests that all firms should adopt that kind of classical management method. In that case, we should also allow the antithesis of this idea, namely, the possibility of denaturing (loss of specificity). This paper supports a contingency approach to small business managerial specificity that would allow the definition of a validity framework for the argument of small business managerial specificity.
