Abstract: | The article discusses autonomy in communication. There are three perspectives in autonomy: communication management or public relations autonomy, autonomy in management theory, and the autonomy of moral philosophy. The research was executed at two global organizations using interviews, observation and document analysis. The study illustrates that autonomy is necessary for communicators to contribute at the maximal level to organizational effectiveness, also it plays a part as ethical counsel in the public relations. |
