Abstract:Selective distribution systems are a means for suppliers of goods to limit which wholesalers and, especially, which retailer receive those goods. The suppliers create a set of requirements which the wholesalers and retailers must meet in order to receive approval to distribute the supplier's goods. One of these requirements is that the dealer can only sell the goods to consumers or to other approved or authorized dealers; without it, the whole purpose of the selective distribution system, control over which dealers receive the supplier's goods, would be averted.
