| Abstract: | This paper aims at conducting a comprehensive analysis of the existing empirical studies which investigate the impact of total quality management (TQM) on company performance (henceforth as: perf). Does the implementation improve the operating perf. of the firm? This is explored by several empirical studies which are gathered and analysed herein. It is concluded that TQM companies outperform their control firms on operating income, stock prices and growth. The results and methodological problems are discussed (original in German). |
