| Abstract: | In this article, the investment decisions of venture capital (VC) companies are investigated to understand how ownership differences affect specific types of strategic decisions. It is described how VC companies differ in how and to whom various property rights are allocated. Using data on investments executed by 3557 companies, it is found that these types of company perform distinct roles in the ecology of VC financing. |
