| Abstract: | Import of steel products in the first half of the year was characterized wave-shaped growth of import of general trade, sustained dominance of import of processing trade accompanied by gradual decline, remarkable growth of investment in imported steel by foreign-funded enterprises, and entrance of large amounts of steel plates into domestic market. Imports are likely to decrease in the second half of the year due to excessive supply or the balance of supply and demand on domestic markets of steel products, unlikely rise of steel prices, limited loosening of funds, imports contained by markets and changes of manners of imports. |
