Abstract:In China's liquid gas market, the proportion of imported liquid gas has increased from 35% in 1997 to 41% in 1998. China has become the second liquid gas importing country after Japan in Asian. The reason for imported gas increase are:(1) low price serves as the main factor influencing import demand;(2) facility of storing delivering create condition for import growth. Meanwhile, domestic liquid gas production has increased by 13%, from 6,350,000 tons in 1997 to 7,200,000 in 1998. The added part is all sold as commodity. In 1998, the nationwide consumption of liquid gas is 11,600,000 tons, including imported gas. It is predicted that in at least following 5 years, China still has potential to import large amount of liquid gas, the annual average growth rate is at 6% to 12%.
