Abstract: | This paper aims is to describe the role that context plays in managerial (henceforth as: mgr-al.) decision making (herein as: d-m). It is aimed to argue that managers increasingly need to take into account broader contexts of information in d-m. Provided is a definition of the concept, examples, and description of benefits of integrating context. Context is found to be a more and more important tool for managerial d-m., especially the more senior an executive or the more ambiguous an addressed issue is. Useful guidelines and approaches to the application of context into mgr-al. work are offered. It is concluded with a proposed methodology of integrating context into the daily work. |
