| Abstract: | Trade appears to be brisk and buoyant in Manila's busy shopping malls such as Mega Mall, the biggest mall in Manila and Asia, and the Shangri-La Plaza, to judge from the swarms of shoppers and the array of goods on offer. Building sites and construction around the capital also reflect the mood of optimism about the country's economic prospects. Projects under way or in the pipeline to improve the country's creaking infrastructure include a flyover in Metro Manila and a railway connecting the former Clark Airbase to Manila. |
