Abstract:Bankers in the UK and Europe are waking up to the possibilities of corporate debt trading, as they look for ways to manage their assets more actively, driven by the need for better returns on corporate lending. paradoxically, this awakening of interest is occurring when the market for distressed corporate debt in the UK and Europe is experiencing a lull. It is starved by a dwindling supply of big new names to trade as economic recovery continues, while trading in some of the older names has almost ceased following debt restructurings or resolutions.
