Abstract:Hainan special economic zone has the obvious characteristics of island economy. Facing southeast Asia and with the mainland in the rear, it abounds in ocean resources and has China's only base of tropical crops and base of tourism and going vacationing for enjoying tropical and ocean view. So far its strategic economic development, it should develop communications and commodity circulation, taking advantage of its natural superiority, and establish the local industrial structure with three pillar industries as the main body in a bid to vacation island and make people rich. The three pillar industries are tropical crops and their extended industries, ocean industry and the international commerce.
