Abstract:This paper concentrates on a telehealth innovation, which is analyzed on the basis of Van de Ven’s industry infrastructure framework. The innovation enables remote medical assistance to stroke patients in a network of collaborating hospitals. According to the authors the innovation’s strong potential is not entirely utilized, because the implementation process is mainly push-driven with minimal pull from potential adopters. The authors try to explain why telehealth industry is trailing behind other industries in adoption of information technology -based innovations.
