| Abstract: | CPAs who offer investment and insurance products and services to their clients are today in the minority. The authors' research shows, however, that the accounting industry is poised for widespread change, with dramatic growth expected in the number of CPA firms providing financial services. At the same time there is a significant market of prospects interested in obtaining these services from their CPAs, were they to be offered. All of this translates into substantial new opportunities for both CPA firms and the institutions that serve them. As their clients most trusted advisers, CPAs are uniquely positioned to better serve their clients through expanded services while increasing their own level of success. To effectively realize this opportunity, the authors provide four steps that CPAs should take. |
