Abstract: | Managing human capital investments is an issue of measurement and mindset. Companies often fail to address human capital issues because of an overemphasis on accounting and a reluctance driven by four common historical experiences. By starting small, organizations can begin to value human capital investments at the decision- making level and extend that learning to broader measurement and compensation and initiatives. This paper considers 12 key elements that correlate with employee retention, customer satisfaction, productivity and profitability, and what managers can do to create a workplace with these elements. |
