Abstract:Economic impact analysis (EIA) of outdoor recreation is used to provide critical social information about the utilization of natural resources. In this study EIA was used to assess the regional economic impacts of rafting in Grand Canyon National Park. Regional expenditure information collected by surveying non-commercial boaters and commercial outfitters and IMPLAN input-output modelling was used to measure direct, indirect, and induced effects of Grand Canyon river runners.
