Abstract: | Learning of tacit knowledge in interorganizational context is a risky process for the collaborating partners. Literature recognizes two perspectives on what motivates partners to share tacit knowledge: one is based on calculative considerations and other on trust-based considerations. The purpose of this article is to show that by considering these perspectives simultaneously, better insight into the interorganizational learning of tacit knowledge will be gained. A two-level model of interorganizational tacit knowledge learning is developed. The model highlights the unique learning roles of boundary spanners at corporate and operational levels. |
