Abstract:Medical tourism means travelling abroad for health care. The theory of planned behaviour is used to examine the medical tourism beliefs of over 330 undergraduate basic psychology course students at a large midwestern American university. Students didn't have positive intentions for plain willingness for seeking more information about travelling to a developing country. An educational intervention is needed to help promote travel for medical treatment, incl. educating people on the availability of quality health care, highly trained competent doctors etc.
