Abstract:Ethics has become a major, controversial issue in American society. Insider trading scandals, deceptive advertising, money laundering, questionable contracting practices, bribery of employees, tax fraud are just a few examples of unethical incidents. In a recent study undergraduates' views on moral and ethical issues were examined. It was found that their ethical standards are generally high, although they vary with demographics. Students believed that including business ethics courses in their educational programs would have a positive impact on their future professional practices. It is suggested that any later declines in the individual behaviour of these future business leaders reflect the pressure of business peers.
