Abstract:After successive years of high-speed growth, the export of foreign trade began to slow down in the second half of 1995. In the several months after June, the peak month when the export volume reached US$ 14 billion, it fell to between US$ 12.1 billion and US$ 12.5 billion. By Dec., there appeared another peak. The export volume amounted to US$ 17.3 billion that month. But in Jan and Feb. 1996, the export volume fell to valley with a monthly volume of US$ 9 billion or so. It rose slightly in March and April. However, the first 4 months' export volume fell by near 8%, compared with that in the same period of 1995.
