| Abstract: | The preliminary forecast shows the following: The per capita income of urban and rural residents for living expenses in 1996 will reach 4510 yuan and 1900 yuan or so respectively. The gap in income between urban and rural residents will be narrowed, to some extent. The saving deposit of urban and rural residents will top 4000 billion yuan. In 1997, the actual growth rate of the income level of urban and rural residents will likely be controlled at 4.5% or so because of the various measures which are being taken and the related departments' efforts to improve the distribution pattern of national income. |
