Abstract:At present, the main contradictions in power industry are as follows: The growth rate of power has fallen again slightly and as a result, there will possibly appear a new round of serious shortage of power and stockpile of coal. The projects, newly started in the construction of power are quite insufficient. The proportion of investment in fixed assets decreases year by year. It has led to the shrinking scale of projects under construction and thus will influence the power supply in the years to come. Besides the external environment is not ideal. The rate of funds for power projects, actually in possession is low. For instance, from Jan. to Aug., 1996, it was only 51.7%. It is estimated that the power output for the whole country will reach 1145 billion kwh, up 7.01% over last year and the total installed capacity, over 0.24 billion kwh, ranking second in the world.
