| Abstract: | The department concerned made a preliminary calculation of the demand for three major metal products according to the economic growth rate in 1997 and the forecaster output of some related products. The demands for steel products , copper and aluminium are 0.1 billion tons, 1.05 million tons and 2 million tons respectively, up 3%-5% over 1996. With the rising demand for general housing and key construction projects undertaken, the demand for building materials, such as 6.5mm wire rod and concrete steel will increase. The market prospects are bright. The market of products for railway will continue to slump and the market demand would not increase greatly. |
