Abstract:"Bottleneck" industries refer to the industrial departments which restrict seriously the development of other industries and the overall national economy. By using the methods of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, this paper makes analysis of "bottleneck" industries' structure. By the year 2000, China's agriculture, communications and transportation, and post and telecommunication are the outstanding "bottleneck" industries. But the oil and natural gas development, and oil processing industries as well as building materials industry are not considered as the "bottleneck" ones for the problem of gap in supply-and demand can be solved by adjustment through import and export. The tertiary industry as a whole will still shave a stronger function of "bottleneck" within this century.
