Abstract: | "Big China" includes mainland, Hong Kong , Taiwan and Macao. In 1994, mainland's GNP was US$ 522.2 billion, US$ 482.8 billion more than Spain's, ranking ninth. The mainland's economy is basically equivalent to the economic scale of five countries of ASEAN as a whole, a slightly larger than it. However, the "big China"'s GNP amounted to US$ 904.5 billion, greatly surpassing Canada's and Brazil's but less than UK's and Italy's, ranking seventh. The total import and export volume of "big China" was US$ 732.2 billion, ranking third, before Japan and after Germany. |
