Abstract:Through the observation and analysis of the dynamic representation of China's economy, its developmental characteristics from 1949 to 1999 are outlined. 1. The economic growth can be divided into two absolutely different stages: (1) 1949-1970 was a period of violent fluctuation of the economy; (2)1971-1999 was a period of economic stable but rapid growth. 2. The ratio of investment and output was large, showing the variant features similar to those of economic growth. 3. The level of investment ratio was very high, the scope of up-and-down very wide. 4. The increasing level of residents' consumption was low and unstable. 5. The growth of population was very rapid, which constrained the enhance of the consumption level.
