Abstract: | Through it is dangerous to anticipate that the future will resemble the recent past, it is equally dangerous not to take the more remote past into account. Using an analysis of stock market cycles, it is demonstrated to what degree this is true for managers, particularly in the light of the recent events. The 1987 crash is explained as the result of a brutal change in brokers' market forecasts and the future of financial markets is anticipated, which, in the author's opinion, is worrying. The financial manager must remember stock market philosophy claiming that the heaviest error is to suppose that the events will not follow their usual course. |
