Abstract:This report examines the French retail market for QSR - Quick-Service Restaurants. The market comprises stand-alone restaurants and eating places in which the consumers can freely choose to eat. It also includes units in "semicaptive" environments (such as leisure, travel and retail establishments, and hotels) where customers' choice of units is to some degree limited. Excluded are, however, units serving "captive" population in institutions such as schools, hospitals or prisons. For this report, the market has been broken down by location, by sector and into chained / independent. There are 5 categories by location: Stand-alone, Retail, Travel, Leisure, Hotel, and 4 by sector: Fast food, Home delivery / take-away, Self-service cafeterias, Street stalls / kiosks. The report covers the period 1995-1999, and forecasts upto the 2004.
