| Abstract: | The paper explores the manner in which contemporary patterns of consumptionm can use commercial hospitality as one medium for social and economic self-expression. It is argued in this paper that the original function of commercial hospitality bears scant resemblance to sophisticated potentialities for socioeconomic self-expression, which manifest themselves in the form of the elite hotel sector. |
