Abstract: | With the increasing use of micro-computer in the office, demand for standardization based on software operating system has been emerged. In spite of the desire for micro-computer operating systems standard operating systems have had to emerge through attrition from the crowd of available operating systems. In the early 1970s CP/M operating system written by Digital Research became the first "de facto" standard. With the change of software-vendors in the period of 1981-83 CP/M was replaced by Microsoft developed MS-DOS. In the mid-80s IBM and other giants as AT&T have appeared in the micro-computer market.
