Abstract: | The main characteristics of high-technology companies are examined. Some of the most prominent representatives of high-technology multinationals are mentioned. Two earlier research projects are reviewed in brief.äThe SAPPHO project at the University of Sussex from the 70s, and the Stanford Innovation Project from the 80s.å A number of important common features of management in high-tech companies are identified and analysed in connection with human relations, formulation of a strategy, coordination, quality improvement etc. A technological portfolio matrix is presented as an example of strategic analytical tools. |
