Abstract: | The high level of Canon research and development technology is backed by its research and development philosophy as well as its management philosophy. Canon's business has grown steadily in the past decade, mainly because the information related field is growing very fast and because Canon has been aggressive in business diversification, which is closely related to research and development. Several examples of diversification are given. R and D activities which are essential to the survival of the company on a highly competitive market are supported, firstly by its management system or organization. Another support is the concept of self-reliance of research and development engineers. |
