Abstract:The opportunities of utilizing investment in property for pension funds with an assessment of the yields of rents, dividends and the retail price index compared to the yield on equities, gilts and property. A move is suggested towards the flotation of individual properties on the Stock Exchange, an increased flow of pension fund cash into property and increased investment returns, overseas investment in UK property and market research gaining a market value. Other issues cover the amount a pension fund should invest in property, accountability and active management, research and forecasting techniques, pooled property investment vehicles and the relationship between trustees, advisers and managers.
