| Abstract: | This article discusses a survey carried out among two groups of undergraduate economics students and four groups of mathematics, law, business administration and philosophy students. The main point in the questionnaire was the conflict between profit maximization and welfare of the workers who would be fired to achieve it. The author argues that the overly mathematical method used to teach economics encourage students toward profit maximisation. |
