| Abstract: | In this paper, developed is a framework allowing to evaluate of external Web content (here as: ext-cnt.) of business Web sites and examined the influence on firm performance. The ext-cnt. is studied by three Web orientations: e-information, e-communication, and e-transaction. Furthermore, differences in ext-cnt. are analysed according to two contingency factors: business size and business industry. A sample comprising 288 Spanish SMEs firms was employed. The results show a positive relationship btw. ext-cnt. and firm performance. Furthermore, this research indicates the existence of complementarities among the Web orientations. In addition, the results also confirm that ext-cnt. is not related to business size, differing slightly by business industry. |
