Abstract: | The french profession has suggested some major reforms to accounting standards. The French national accounting board, the Conseil National de la Compatibilite (CNC), celebrated its 50th anniversary on October 1997. The minister of finance and industry used this occasion to make a significant announcement. The draft accounting law, allowing certain companies to depart from French accounting principles in their group accounts, would be presented to parliament for a vote at the end of 1997. |
