Abstract:This survey considers the French retail market for men's toiletries. Men's toiletries constitutes the second fastest growing and fourth largest of the cosmetics and toiletries markets. The market wittnessed positive value growth over the 1992-1996 period despite a period of recession and widespread discounting. Men's toiletries are becoming increasingly sophisticated in response to a greater acceptance of non-traditional products, many of which were previously confined to the female domain. Product innovation and effective niche marketing are proving to be best weapons in stimulating market growth.
