| Abstract: | The study was designed, and the questionnaire developed, by the members of the Information Systems Committee of the Grocery Manufacturers of America. The findings of the study suggest three primary conclusions: 1) End-user computing is rapidly becoming a direct extension of corporate computing. Computing which is outside the direct control of the information systems function is end-user computing. 2) End-user computing is now moving into more routine and even transaction-related activities. It is the "mirror image" of corporate computing. 3) These developments in end-user computing contribute to the success of organization, and this contribution is likely to grow. |
