Abstract:Competitive advantage accrues to the firm that is best able to deliver the right product or service to the marketplace at the right price and time. Even successful firms today must keep a wary eye on three constantly changing environments: those of the competitor the customer and the supplier. Speed-to-market, cost, innovation, employee networking, customer service-these are just some of the crucial areas where information technology can help a firm stay "ahead of the curve" and maintain a competitive advantage.
