| Abstract: | In the Brussels centre of the European Communities /EC/ a plan is being worked out, by which the EC would oblige the in Europe active multinacional firms to form so called euro works councils. The composition, competence, form and the way of operation of these councils should be the results of bargaining between the management of the firm and the representative of the employees. The details of the plan are described in the article, as well as the reactions of the German industry. The resistance of the latter is considerable. The article is supplemented by an interview with the personnel manager of Volkswagen. This automobile company is in favour of the draft. |
