Abstract:In a corps, a large formation of the army, which might consist of three divisions - 40,000 fighting men and women, the group planning the battle would be the three divisional commanders supported by artillery and supplies. In addition - and for us highly significantly - intelligence! This structure would be replicated up the line. A meeting of the general staff to plan the Gulf campaign would be atended by the head of military intelligence.
