Abstract:The author identifies four initiatives that he particularly encourages the Board of Governors to consider: (1) It is necessary to set much higher sights for the Academy of Management Executive, (2) Professional divisions should be encouraged to conduct joint conferences with practitioner organizations in their respective domains, (3) The Academy should initiate a new major award, (4) The Academy of Management should hold its annual meeting outside of the United States or Canada.
