| Abstract: | Solution techniques for the combined machining economics/operations sequencing problem are proposed. The machining economics problem has received considerable attention. This is due to the fact that manufacturing costs, overall profit margins, and profit marketability are greatly influenced by decisions relating to how individual parts are machined. However, manufacturing costs are equally affected by operation sequencing decisions. The objective of this paper is to examine the interactions between the machining parameter selection problem and the operation sequencing problem. |
