Abstract:Self-managed learning combines the idea of learners working together in small groups on real life problems, as in action learning, with the practice of learners setting their own agenda, or 'contract', and striving to meet targets contained within that. Hiram Walker Agencies, part of the Allied Lyons group , decided to go down the self-managed learning route precisely because it was also trying to engender a new culture in which individuals took responsibility for their actions but also pulled together as a team.
